Downtown Eagle River

Eagle River town boasts a fun assortment of restaurants, historical sites, parks, and shops. Visitors can start the day with a cup of coffee from one of our coffee shops, a pastry from the bakery, or a full breakfast at one of the diners. You can enjoy a historical walking tour or visit the railroad museum. Riverside Park and the county fairgrounds are nearby for outdoor relaxation. There are art stores, fishing shops, and boutique shops to attract all sorts of shoppers. Of course, most visitors do not think their time here is complete without stopping at one of the t-shirt shops and stocking up on handmade fudge and candy!

Chain of Lakes

Eagle River developed around the northern part of the largest inland freshwater lake chain in the world! These 28 lakes are known nationwide for their pristine fishing; in particular, they are an excellent place to fish for walleye, northern, bass, and the elusive musky. Also, these lakes are beautiful! Our visitors enjoy pleasure cruising; watersports such as tubing and skiing; and relaxing on the sandbars. You will find yourself spending hours of fun with your family and friends on the lakes and making stops at the famous destinations along the way.

Family Destination

After your family has explored the town and lakes, there is still a lot more to see and do! The extensive trail systems invite hikers, bikers, snowshoers, skiers, snowmobilers, and ATVers to enjoy nature all year round. There are mini-golf and golf courses; ziplines and horseback riding; nature centers and a huge variety of parks (from beaches to playgrounds to bird watching to ice skating) to visit!

Snowmobile Capital of the World

Not far from the Hiawatha Lodge, you will find the Snowmobile Headquarters and Derby Track which holds the annual Snowmobile Racing Championships. In St. Germain, you can take a stroll through the Snowmobile Hall of Fame. Better yet, get a snowmobile and enjoy the extensive trails and scenery. There are over 500 miles of breathtaking trails in our county alone, and they connect to trails in every direction from Eagle River.
